Happy New Year!
Howard and I are anticipating an exciting journey with the Lord in 2006! We hope
you are too. The Spirit of the Lord has been encouraging us to expect him to do
great and mighty things this year. We should be ready to quickly obey His every
direction. He is at work in the Spirit realm! What does the scripture say? Him
who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the “power” that works in us. He is at work in us, the Almighty,
All Powerful God of the universe, working in us! What an awesome thought to
meditate on. I hope this spurs you on to seek the things He may be getting you
ready for in this coming year. The days are drawing so short, His coming is
closer now than last year (whatever time His coming may be). So many don’t know
of His love for them, how He is full of amazing grace and forgiveness, He is
just waiting to extend to them if they just ask, if they just knew…. Well before
I go on may I just say Howard and I wish you an incredibly, exciting journey
with the Lord this year!
Christmas around the World!
Howard and I had the privilege of attending the Christmas around the World in
Tulsa Oklahoma at Victory Church. We had never been to one and didn’t know what
to expect. Howard’s job for the evening was to video tape for Pastor Kyle
Taylor. Pastor Taylor and his family were asked to represent the Native
Americans.
We got there early to set up cameras and thought we had walked
into
many
different countries. There were at least thirty nations represented. Each had a
booth set up with articles from their nation and each prepared a food of their
nation for folks to taste. There was a time for visiting and tasting food. There
also was a time for a taste of other cultures when each of the nations had an
opportunity to sing a song, share a cultural dance, and tell a story. We
thoroughly enjoyed the night. We were really encouraged when we learned that
these nations represented cell groups from Victory Church. All these nations
had cell group’s right in Tulsa Oklahoma. We were really surprised!

Pastor
Kyle’s niece who recently was elected Miss Native America Oklahoma was given the
honor of praying for the nations.

The Lord gave us once again a picture of every tongue, tribe
and nation around the throne.

A time of Rest
With much anticipation for another busy year, Howard and I felt
impressed to be sure to end out the year in slow motion you might say. I felt
the Lord specifically asked me to be a Mary this year and not a Martha. So when
our two sons decided they would be visiting family in PA for the holidays,
Howard and I decided to stay home alone and enjoy the holidays in a more relaxed
atmosphere.
Now lest you think we spent Christmas day alone we have very
dear friends who invited us for Christmas at their home. We had a wonderful day
of fellowship together. Of all the blessing we have received form the Lord this
year we have been blessed the most with the Johnson family. He has knitted our
hearts together and it is good.
Howard worked on office projects at a slower pace throughout the time. We took a
few days and indulged in the holiday goodies. We watched a Christmas movie each
evening and just slowed down and enjoyed the season, it was great!
Covenant
Howard is leading a Precept Covenant class. It is really good to
be in a precept class again. Covenant is such an important teaching. We believe
it is so important for every believer to understand Covenant. There are just six
of us, but we are all very interested in the subject so it makes for an exciting
time every time we meet. We also believe it is extremely important for the
Native American people to understand God’s Covenant and His faithfulness to
never break Covenant with us. If you have never done a study on Covenant I
challenge you to, it will give you a deeper understand of just who our God is!
Precept Ministries offers an excellent way to study it.
Thank You!
Thank you to all who remembered us by sending us a Christmas
card, I don’t know if Cornerstone had a Christmas Card Contest this year, but we
got plenty of wishes for a Merry Christmas. We especially want to thank our
A-Team who faithfully keeps us encouraged by letting us know we are not
forgotten servants. And of course all our faithful supporters who send a portion
of their hard earned money so that we may continue to walk out God’s plan for
our life as missionaries and His plans for their life as senders. You are all
great and we are encouraged by you!
Please pray with us that:
-
We would be sensitive to God’s leading as we schedule our
year. We would be good stewards of our time.
-
As we work through the covenant study we would be able to
share with others who may take a Covenant course in the future.
-
We are beginning to plan for furlough this year, please pray
God will give us interesting ways to share about the work among Native
American Tribes.
